Habeas Corpus
by Alan Bennett June 2009
Habeas Corpus Set in Brighton in the late sixties, the lust and longing of the permissive society has well and truly taken hold of the Wicksteeds, a family for whom the determination to put sex and satisfaction of the body before everything else is the ruling passion of their lives. This rollicking farce is as saucy and English as a seaside postcard as the characters move in and out through a maze of mistaken identities and sexual encounters. As Wicksteed says, “He who lusts last, lusts longest.” |
